Louisiana Automated Victim Notification System

Inmates are allowed to submit a request form for one (1) care package from family or friends during the first 30 days of incarceration at the Red River Parish Jail. No additional care packages may be requested until a custody status change has occurred from pretrial to parish or D.O.C. sentenced. Once approved, care packages must be ordered by family or friends and shipped directly to the jail from retailers such as Amazon.com, Walmart.com, etc. No care packages shipped from residential addresses will be permitted. Care packages may only contain the following approved items: 

4 - Rolls of Toilet Paper 

4 - Bars of Soap 

1 - Bottle of Shampoo/Conditioner 

1 - Personal Towel 

1 - Personal Wash Cloth 

2 - Sticks of Deodorant 

4 - Toothbrushes 

1 - Tube of Toothpaste 

1 - Package of Underwear (Briefs or Boxers, No Pockets) 

1 - Set of Long Johns or Thermal Underwear 

1 - Package of Socks (No Pockets) 

1 - Sweat Suit (White or Gray Only, No Pockets, Drawstrings, or Hoodies) 

1 - Package of T-Shirts (White or Gray Only) 

1 - Gym Shorts (Solid Color, No Neon, Pockets, or Drawstrings) 

1 - Pair of Footwear (No Steel-toe Boots) 

All unapproved packages or unapproved individual items sent in care packages will be removed. Inmate will have a total of seven (7) days to arrange for unapproved items to be picked up by a family member or friend. If not retrieved after seven (7) days, unapproved items will be disposed of.

Commissary (No Limit, All Must Fit In Foot Locker, $100.00 Weekly Order Limit) 

Within 90 days of intake, all personal clothing items not permitted in the jail must be picked up or mailed to the inmate’s family. Items not retrieved within 90 days will be disposed of. The expense of postage for shipping personal property is solely the responsibility of the inmate or his family.
